Ki Jawani (Fierce Youth)

Hello everybody! I know I haven’t posted in such a long time and I deeply apologize. A lot of things came up and also my family and I are in the process of moving houses (it’s fun but it’s one tough job!). Anyway, I’m back and am ready to share again and again to you all my love for fashion and then some πŸ™‚

I’ll start with where I left off – the third instalment of my Ms. Teen Australasia 2012 posts!

So far you’ve seen my presentation look and sportswear… So, what do you think’s next? πŸ™‚ TALENT PORTION! To be honest, this was the most tricky part of the competition since I don’t really think I have a mastered talent. In the end we decided for me to do a dance number. Only thing left to think about was WHAT TYPE OF DANCE? My talented mommah (who was by the way an active dancer and one of the best during her school years) came up with BOLLYWOOD πŸ™‚

With Anjali Sengupta of Embracing Spirit

With the help of Jeremy He of Passion Dance Studio, I got to meet and be instructed by the marvellous Anjali Sengupta of Embracing Spirit. She is such a superb choreographer and all sessions with her were so much fun that I looked forward to our lessons every single time πŸ™‚ She is dedicated to her craft and her love for Bollywood dancing is so palpable that you’d be totally converted πŸ™‚ (and why shouldn’t you love it, Bollywood is a very interesting fun dance and is such a great work out). Anjali, if you’re reading this, I will always beΒ grateful to you for choreographing such a gorgeous number, raising my self-esteem, and making me feel my Ki Jawani! πŸ˜€

(NOTE: Photos taken during dress rehearsal not the actual pageant night)

One thing I’ve always been fascinated with Bollywood dance is their costumes. The colors are just so vibrant that they could instantly raise your mood and remind you of all the good things in life πŸ™‚ This particular costume, even had the current trend of color blocking incorporated in it! Score! πŸ˜€

I was really worried that we might have wardrobe malfunctions during the performance but thank God for Target’s instant stick skin colored bra cups, they made me feel secure all through out my dance.

386508_4165381127459_1776895587_n(1)The skirt is just divine! It’s sparkly and has flower patterns. Plus, another trend it has is sheer πŸ™‚ Since it’s sheer, there is another skirt layer which is in blue. Never thought that orange and blue would go great together.

I’m really happy of the outcome of the dance and my look πŸ™‚ I hope I did Bollywood some justice πŸ˜€
